This short book is a great read which deals with Lew Richardson’s successful campaign to prevent the Kowmung River from being dammed for industrial purposes. These efforts culminated in his gifting of land he owned on the river to National Parks and Wildlife in June1969, thus thwarting the proposed damming of the river. His land was then incorporated into the Kanangra Boyd National Park which was established in December 1969.
About the author: Bob Richardson is the son of Lew. ” River of Dreams” is about a particular passage in the life of his father and was written principally for Lew’s grandson and children who never met Lew. Much of the book is a very personal account and we are very fortunate that Bob has allowed us to share this important part of the history of the Blue Mountains and NSW.
